something new
someone famous (i dunno who) said that u should always try new things in life. well, tonight i decided to take their advice, and tried something new. i went over to the La Cima apartments, where i learned to play...MAH JONG!!! it was mah jong night at Reggie, David, Jas, and Steph's apartment. im still a bit shaky when i play, and i cant strategize to save my life, but i pretty much got the hang of it...even if i am slow....i even won 2 games! well...i just wanna thank reggie, david and Phil for helping me learn to play, and being patient with me when i made stupid moves. also along for the fun were Mayrin, Lauren & Kim, although Mayrin and Kim were busy watching Dawson's Creek...i have no idea what they see in that show, but eh. Lauren was pretty good at mah jong...but just wait...as soon as i get my strategization in order...i shall conquer mah jong!!! you'll see!!! stay tuned...we'll be back after these messages =)

where is he?
i have been missing in action again. sorry about that, but i have been busy with a lot of stuff. lotsa things have happened since i last posted, including the attacks on the world trade center and the pentagon. that was a tragedy, but it amazes me how something like that can unite the nation like its never been united before. its also amazing how that son of a bush we call president can have a 90% approval rating because of this, and not because of anything that he did before this. i dunno...i think that its good that this country is united, because a nation divided is easier to fall apart in attacks such as these. i also have much respect for those people who are looking for anybody who could have survived this tragedy. i just hope that we can somehow get back to some semblence of normal life sooner or later. well, enough of my 2 cents on this topic, there has been plenty of coverage on this event over the past couple of weeks.
another major thing that's been happening in my life has been the return of school. i did not want summer to end, i was enjoying not having to do anything academic. well my schedule isnt that bad....im only taking 3 classes and i have 4 day weekends (fri-mon), meaning that i take tues/thurs classes w/ weds sections...but im gonna try not to let that get to my head, and try to stay on track to do well this quarter...wish me luck!!! well, for now i must go do a bit of studying before i head off to sleep, since i have work tomorrow. before i go...i must say hi to Kathy since she mentioned me in her blog, pretty nice of her too. also wassup to all u bridge peeps out there. nite all...stay tuned...we'll be back after these messages =)

Back to work
eh...i started back to work today...i totally did not wanna be there. it felt so weird being back there after being gone for 6 weeks. i dunno...i guess the reason why it was so weird was that i was back to working to only a handful of people, instead of 149 students and 27 staff members of summer bridge. i dunno, it takes awhile to get back to the normal routine of my old job, which isnt much....but as i said, it's totally different than the kinda work environment that i had been exposed to for the past 6 weeks. especially the communication factor...i mean, in summer bridge, communication was everything...but in my "normal" job, a lot of things go unsaid and things just "go" without much communication, well i guess that's cuz so many people are playing politics with each other in my job that if they actually speak to each other, feelings get hurt, and drama erupts. i was thinking to myself that i miss working for Summer Bridge, and can't wait til next year to do it again. i was also thinking that im glad that im only gonna work for 10 hours a week during the first quarter...i dunno if i can take much more than that so soon after bridge. dont get me wrong...its a pretty good job, and the pay is great...but the job seems kinda stuffy now after the experiences of bridge. each one of the students and staff from bridge hold a special place in my heart, and i do miss the fun times that we had at Argo Hall. yeah yeah...that was cheesy, but true. stay tuned...we'll be back after these messages =)

it's over...it's over now
sorry about my last post...i was just having a bad day, and i havent had time to update it cuz of bridge and all. basically, i found out some stuff that got me feeling not so great. also my friend who had wanted me to mc her debut asked me not to do it, because she didnt want me to be a rose and mc at the same time, so i had to step aside. so yeah...i wasnt feeling that great. also adding to that was the thought that summer bridge was ending, and i didnt want it to end. speaking of which...summer bridge ended yesterday and im feeling a bit of bridge withdrawal. i cant completly explain it other than that i miss the students and talking to them. i also miss hanging out with the staff either in my suite, or in the pit during pit duty. i built relationships with these people that i dont think i could have done anywhere else. i am very thankful for the opportunity to have worked for this program...and i do plan on coming back for sb '02, but im not sure if i'll come back as an ATC or RC...we shall see. 1 thing i definitely wont miss will be the food. plaza cafe definitely has the worst food anywhere. i ate that food, and my stomach was really mad at me, and i paid for it. i think it's still mad at me...i need to apologize to it for torturing it for a month.
it was weird being back at home too. when i woke up this afternoon (haha notice i say afternoon)...i thought to myself that i was gonna be late for a meeting. i seriously was staring at my clock for 5 minutes before i realized where i was at. i dunno...it just hasnt completely hit me that this program is over. but hey...who knows, maybe when i wake up tomorrow...i'll remember where im at, and not think that im gonna be late to some meeting. well...i shall be enjoying the next week off before i go back to my other job...but as for now, i think imma go relax a bit and watch some tv before going to sleep. until next time...stay tuned, we'll be back after these messages. =)

sadness
sad day today...i found out some tragic news...Aaliyah died today =( it really sucks, cuz i really dig her and her music. but the thing that really sucked was how young she was. she was only 22!!! that's 2 years older than me for god's sake!!! i was looking forward to hearing a lot more from her. i even had a lil crush on her...she was the one celebrity i would choose to meet if i had the chance...but now that will never happen, cuz a tragedy killed her. what a way to end a somewhat decent day, especially after a great summer bridge talent show. i can't believe it. i am in mourning...=(

long time no blog
so what??? yeah yeah, i havent blogged in awhile...but then again i've been pretty busy for the past few weeks w/ summer bridge and all. but i am having a good time, although i'm working late hours that ive never worked before. but other than that, the students have been great. this job has been keeping me really busy, especially since i have about 40 students on my list that i have to meet with twice during this program. if you do your math, that means that i have 80 meetings with students, and thats not counting the countless numbers of staff meetings that i have to attend daily. so basically, my job is all about meetings. if it sounds like i'm complaining, i'm not...i really am having a good time getting to know the students who are here, and i'm really enjoying my large room and my extra large bed that no one, other than the resource counselors get to have.
august is moving by really fast...almost too fast. it's already half over, and it's already the 2nd week of the program. speaking of which, i gotta buy my best friend Chie a birthday gift since her bday is this saturday. i have no idea what i wanna get for her. why are girls so hard to shop for??? i think i'm gonna hit up the mall either tomorrow or thursday when i have some time off to get something for her. ah well...time to get back to work...until next time...stay tuned we'll be back after these messages =)

Moving In
for the past few months, i have been talking and talking about this thing called summer bridge, and about how i am really excited about moving away from home and into the dorms @ UCSD. well now that time has come, and i am now residing in the dorms of Argo Hall @ Revelle College. i moved in today, and am pretty well situated...well not too situated, cuz i have to move outta this room on friday. no i'm not moving back home after only 4 days in the res halls. someone @ the reservations desk here goofed up, and forgot to reserve the dorms for the staff of summer bridge the week before bridge begins (now), so for right now, we are stuck in temporary rooms until we can move into our more (somewhat) permanent rooms this friday. the room that im in isnt that bad...its meant for 3 people...but im the only one here. and im only sharing the suite (living area w/ 7 rooms) with Chris since no one else has checked in yet. but when i do move into my room, i'll be in a 2 person room by myself and sharing a suite w/ only 3 other peeps...so that shouldnt be too bad. ah well...im gonna head off to sleep now since i got training @ 8am in the fricken morning...nite=) stay tuned...we'll be back after these messages!!!

Insert title here
here it is the groove slightly transformed...just a bit of a break from the norm...just a little somethin to break the monotony...of all that hardcore dance that has gotten to be...a little bit out of control it's cool to dance...but what about the groove that soothes that moves romance...gimme a soft subtle mix...and if aint broke then dont try to fix it (dont try to fix it)...and think of the summers of the past...adjust the base and let the alpine blast...pop in my CD and let me run a rhyme...and put your car on cruise and lay back cause this is summertime...
remember that song??? summertime by will smith (aka the fresh prince)...that song brings me back to my days at hickman elementary school...somewhere around 5th or 6th grade...maybe cuz thats when it first came out. that has to be one of the all time summer anthems, and must always be played at one point or another during summer, or else it isnt summer.
as for what i have been up to...pretty much the song describes what i've been up to..well sorta. i've mainly been workin and going to summer school. and just chillin w/ a few friends here and there. i dunno...im just trying to enjoy myself as much as i can before september 20 comes around...cuz when that date hits, the craziness starts all over again...well lucky for me, i have 4 day weekends next quarter, otherwise it will really be craziness. so since i am trying to make the most of this summer, i havent really been making much of an effort of updating my blog (although i have been on the computer a lot cuz of work and pure boredom)...but im not as bad as some people...*ahem*...right Janet? =)
for now the days are counting down until summer bridge training begins (it begins this wednesday)...i am definitely looking forward to working for this program (as u can tell in a lot of my other previous blogs)...it really made an impact on my life atUCSD, and i hope to make the same impact to the incoming freshmen who are going through the program. another perk for me working for summer bridge is that i get to move out from home for a month...it aint much, but at least it's something. as for now, i think im gonna head to bed...eh, maybe not...i think im gonna play some ps2 then go to sleep. stay tuned we'll be back after these messages...=)

A Very Special Day
so the countdown to the very special day has reached 0...meaning that the special day has come. the event that occured on this day? why of course, my birthday...my 20th to be exact. 20 years ago today, Jeff Green hit this earth, and the world hasnt been the same ever since...haha yeah right. but yeah, i am officially not a teenager anymore, which means...absolutely nothing other than the fact that i dont have the word "teen" in my age anymore. i still have to wait until i can do anything "legal," although i have bent the laws on a few occasions =). but anyways, today was a pretty nice day...although i did go to summer school, and popped into work for a few hours. tonight i went out w/ my family (dad, aunt, and 2 cousins) to dinner @ the international restaurant on convoy. the food was alright, although it wasnt as good as it was the first time i went there. and then i got a Playstation 2 which means i can play video games and watch DVD movies...it will come in very handy when i go to bridge. tomorrow...i celebrate w/ my friends at my dinner party @ trophy's in mission valley. that should be fun...anyways im gonna stop wasting what's left of my special day on the computer, and finish wasting it in front of the tv. stay tuned...we'll be back after these messages =)

1st day of Summer School
today was a really long day...well somewhat. i woke up @ like 745am so i could give my friend Cynthia, from UC Davis a mini tour of UCSD and get her parking permit before her 930am class. after that...i had nothing to do for the next hour and a half, so i went in to work...big mistake!!! the minute i get in, peeps were storming me to do stuff....they were like "welcome back jeff, good to see you...could u do this for me?" i had my vacation, now im paying for it...oh well. anyways, i went in til 11, then went to my bio class. my professor, has a really strong british accent...he's the type of guy who would pronouce tomato with the long "A". so i sat through an hour and 20 min of his quirky accent...then grabbed something to eat (away from price center)...then went back to work, where i was stampeded again w/ peeps asking me to put their computers together and stuff. after that i went to UPS to pick up the new One Voice CD that i had ordered...woohoo...its pretty cool, i like it a lot!!!=). then i went to get some boba from green tea house...damn it!!! they raised prices there...i paid $3.43 for a honeydew milk tea w/ boba!!! it's raised $0.43 since they opened 3 months ago!!! im gonna have to cut back a bit. but after that, i just went home and chilled. hmm...i guess thats all for now...no randomness for you...i need to get to sleep, my boss asked me to come in a bit early tomorrow for something...good thing i get weds off for the 4th...ah well...nite all...stay tuned, we'll be back after these messages =I

MIA
wow...long time since ive updated...well i've been pretty busy since i last updated. i havent even been in the state for the last week. yup, thats right, i went to Las Vegas with my dad to visit my brother, since my dad hasnt seen his new house. but yeah...i was there for 6 whole days...6 days of not being able to do any "Vegas" things...sucks not to be 21 in a place where u have to be 21 to do anything...now i know how Ian feels here in daygo =þ (just playin ian). anyways, other than that, i had been working, and chillin w/ friends who are left in daygo. yesterday i went to Rosanna's 21st birthday party right after getting back from vegas...i was tired, but i still went...lotsa peeps who i havent seen in awhile there, and of course there was lotsa drinking there...but none for me...i was too tired, and still had to drive later. after that, i went to Chrizil's graduation party. there were a lot of UCSD peeps and alumni there....we got a long game of scrabble going...that seriously took forever, but it was fun...my team won!!! GO SPEEDOS!!! =) after that, i was about to go home to pass out from the long day...but i was persuaded to go to suspension bridge with Chris, Baker, Jane, Trixie, & Annie. pretty cool stuff, but a bit freaky w/ the squeakiness of the bridge, and the "mysterious" lights that kept moving towards us. it was fun...but then afterwards, i went home and passed out til like 2 today. and tomorrow...i get to start summer school...yay me!!! 5 weeks of Bio2...woohoo!!!
randomness...Las Vegas is a mighty hot place this time of year...i move out from home in less than a month for a month!!!...oh yeah, and of course the count down for a special day, days left: 11. ahh...i guess thats all for now, so stay tuned...we'll be back after these messages =)

Summertime Summertime
do u realize how relaxing it is to be away from school? summer break has come upon the students of UCSD, and i am very happy. being on summer break has made me lazy, and has made me not do anything that is related to being productive other than working...meaning that i have been laggin on updating this thing. i was really burned out from school, especially with finals, so i havent felt like being productive. but really nothing has happened within the last week, other than finals, and some friends graduating from high school and college. congrats to all u who graduated, and good luck w/ whatever u do w/ yourself.
another side effect of the school year ending are peeps leaving daygo to head back home. a few minutes ago, i was driving in La Jolla, and Steph Ng saw me pass by her, as she was going to the gas station to fill up before she headed back home to the bay area. she called me up, on my cell and told me that she had seen me pass by, and also said bye to me for the summer. so sad so sad...w/ friends leaving for the 3 months break, and other friends leaving to start their lives away from UCSD. i wonder what it will be like to leave this place to start my own life. another side-effect of the college student's summer break is that it's somewhat hard to catch up w/ old high school friends cuz they have their own things going on in their own lives that no longer involves you. i dunno...i remember when i graduated from high school 2 short years ago, as we were getting ready to walk across the graduation stage, a bunch of my friends and i made promises with each other to keep in touch and to get together every once in awhile, just like old times. too bad it doesnt work that way. no one is at fault for not keeping those promises, it's just the way that life after high school (aka college) life works. dont get me wrong, i still keep in touch with a few of my hs friends (including my best friend Chie), but i still think about the promises that we made to keep in touch with each other, and wonder how it would be if we all actually kept our promises.
random ramblings: hmm, i really like summer break, its been way too long since last summer...i wanna go to magic mountain, prolly gonna go sometime in july...the countdown is on for a very special day days left: 23...boba is good, especially from "my" (green) tea house...i seriously need to get a tan, especially on my legs, u need blinders to see my legs, or else you'll go blind from the brightness, thats how white they are...i guess thats all for now, im gonna get back to work for the next half hour til im off...stay tuned, we'll be back after these messages =)
