feeling kinda...
blah right now, a few things have not been going exactly as planned. i dunno, i guess it's the pre-school-starting blues. i didnt get everything that i had planned to do quite as expected. one of my goals this summer was to work out and get trimmed...what did i do? i gained 10 pounds during summer bridge. issues w/ my love life came up during the summer, and ended on not so great terms. i am unemployed (the first time since ive been in college) and am in desperate need to find a job...i mean, my dad is helping me along w/ some extra cash...but i wanna be more independent and make my own money, and not have to be as dependent on my parents. calvet says that i made $200 too much last year to be qualified for benefits, so now i'm also stuck with paying for tuition this year...i'm appealing their decision, we'll see how that goes.

i dunno...i just need some cheering up...somebody cheer me up! stay tuned...we'll be back after these messages =/

1 year ago today, terrorists tried to take away any semblance of peace that we had, by crashing passenger planes into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon...even though those events took place 3000 miles away in New York and Washington DC...let's not forget who we are, and what we stand for. let's not forget all who perished in the horrible attacks from 1 year ago today...take a second to think about the images of last year, and how we're all lucky that what happened to those 3000+ people didnt happen to us.

normally, i wouldnt blog about specific events in history...but considering the circumstances of this occasion, i think it's important to remember. stay tuned...we'll be back after these messages =l

Developing Humans
as of yesterday...i am now officially a full Human Development Major. i went to UCSD to change from pre-HDP to full HDP...but i found out yesterday that i didnt have to go through the pre-HDP crap since i started @ UCSD in fall '99...the academic advisor that i went to when i originally declared didnt know what she was talking about, she told me that i had to do the new requirements for the major instead of the old...but the lady yesterday told me that i coulda did either the old requirements (more choices of classes) or the new ones (less classes to choose from). i tried to fully declare my minor too (ethnic studies)...but who woulda thunk it that the department would be closed for the summer....oh well, i'll check back when i start school in a couple of weeks...haha u SDSU suckas already started school, while i'm still on break...eh, u guys make up for it at the end, since u get out early. ok thats it for now...boring post, but who said that my life was always interesting? SIGN THE TAGBOARD!!!...ok, bye. stay tuned...we'll be back after these messages =)

to update this thing...
since i havent posted anything of substance for awhile...i guess i'll give a few updates on what has been going on.

-summer bridge ended exactly a week ago today...it was a fun program, and i think the students got a lot from it...i know that i met a lot of new faces who will definitely be making a difference at UCSD.
-the staff of bridge was great...we had some good meetings...the last 2 that we had lasted over 5 hours each!
-Sharyne turned 21 the night that bridge ended, she had a nice get together that was a mini reunion for my own summer bridge (1999).
-ATC party @ Lisa's house was fun, and quite interesting...but the confidentiality rule remains in effect...so no details of that night/next morning are gonna be shared here.
-my room at home has been remodeled since i left for bridge...i have a new bed, and the layout of my room has been rearranged.
-saturday i got to hang out w/ the Pelonia sisters (Nem and Gee) as well as Chelle Peralta and her bf Mark...fun stuff...random night
-relaxed for much of this week
-went to Disneyland with some of the Reslife staff of summer bridge...nobody was there, so the lines were pretty short.

so that's what i've been up to...less that 3 weeks left of my summer break before school starts again on the 26th. i cant believe that my 3 month vacation has come down to this....i'll try to make the most of it. stay tuned...we'll be back after these messages =)
