The Happiest Place on Earth
Disneyland is definitely a happy place to be. true that it may be no Magic Mountain, with no rides that adds up to Angeli's X, or my favorite ride Goliath, but it is definitely a place to relive your childhood....and i did just that today. i had a lot of fun, just riding the rides that i rode as a child. funny thing is that i even got the feeling in my stomach before i got there that i got as a child, in anticipation for what was to come. and to top things off, i experienced it w/ a special someone...that alone made it all worthwhile. i would have to say that my day at disneyland was one of the best (if not the best) times ive had there. stay tuned...we'll be back after these messages =)

haloHalo
peeps have been wondering why a lot of my online stuff (eg.AIM sn, email addy, blog) is based on haloHalo, and not boba, since i tend to enjoy boba and have it more often than haloHalo. my ate Cat actually made me think about it, and actually gave me this idea to blog about it, so here's the explanation...well, the simple reason is...before there was boba, there was haloHalo. haloHalo has a lot of meaning to me...it's not just dessert. the literal meaning of haloHalo is "mix mix," and that certainly describes me...i'm mixed, filipino and black...so what better and shorter way to describe me, than by that term...haloHalo. it was also a small lil joke when i was in hs...i guess, it kinda started like junior year when i walked into a room one day, and greeted everybody with a random word that came out of my mouth...that word..."haloHalo" w/ a filipino accent...and it got peeps crackin up for some reason, and i guess that stuck with me.

so it's not just a tasty dessert, it really means something, but i will also be accepting donations of boba...starting this sunday....til then i'll stick to haloHalo. stay tuned...we'll be back after these messages =)

Reunion
last night was the reunion of all the Summer Bridges of the past. this year marked the 25th anniversary of the program...so there was a huge event to celebrate the occasion. it was weird seeing people who were students way back in 1978, way before i was even a glimmer in my parents' eyes. it's even weirder to see peeps Summer Bridge 1981, the year i was born ...to think that they were going through the program when my daily routine was eat, sleep, and get my diapers changed. it just makes me think how lucky i was to be in the program...looking at all these alumni, and seeing how successful they are now. it also gives me a good feeling that im working for the program...giving back to future classes of Summer Bridge, what was given to me from past Bridges. it was definitely nice to see other people who have at least 1 thing in common with me...Summer Bridge. stay tuned...we'll be back after these messages =)

my level of finals anxiety is at 0...i am now completely done with all of my finals, and now i can chillax for a week and a half...thank God for spring break, my brain was starting to die (if it hasnt already). now its time to get this spring break party started...i plan to just relax, and hang out with friends and a special someone ;)

how do u like my new layout? i kinda got tired of that blue star, so i figure that since im on spring break, why dont i put up a new layout. direct any feedback to my guestbook...not too many peeps sign it anymore, and its getting quite lonely. i think i will end this now, cuz i cant think of anything else to write, since i just wrote 3 papers in less than a week...stay tuned, we'll be back after these messages =)

im gonna go buckwild once lent ends...green tea house look out, cuz im coming!!! i am so craving boba...its not really cuz i miss the taste, its cuz peeps keep tempting me with it. just by telling me that theyre going on a boba run, or telling me that they got their own flavor of boba named after them...no individual names will be mentioned *ahem*ronnelmarkanthony*ahem* sorry i needed to clear my throat. next thing you know, i'll start twitching from withdrawal *twitch*...you didnt see that. stay tuned...we'll be back after these messages =X

no more classes
i am finished with classes for this quarter...but im still doing homework. why you may ask? well...i have finals coming up. my schedule is as follows...asian american lit paper due monday, hdp 110 final on monday, adolescent lit paper due friday, adolescent lit final quiz on friday, children and the media take home final due friday...however, my adolescent lit prof said that if we turn our papers by tuesday, we dont have to take the final quiz...so thats what i'm aiming for. another aim is for me to finish everything by tuesday, but i doubt that will happen, cuz i thought my hdp 110 final was on tuesday, but its not, so that screws up my original plans. well, at the very latest i will be done with everything by wednesday, and so i'll have a week and a half for spring break. but i just have to survive til then. stay tuned...we'll be back after these messages =/

boba-less
i have officially decided that i am giving up boba for lent. i hadn't made it official til now. i know i know, lent is half over, but i havent had boba since before lent began, and i was debating whether or not i should go the distance. but now i have made the decision, meaning no boba til after easter. since lent began, ive had almond milk tea and thai tea w/ no boba, and i have to say that it's definitely not the same without em balls. i will be glad once lent ends, so i can indulge in my boba pleasure. oh...btw...any rumor that i have been unfaithful to my vow of no boba for lent *ahem* is an untruth haha....i have not had any boba since February 12, and that will continue til mr. bunny rabbit delivers me colorful eggs in a basket. stay tuned...we'll be back after these messages =X

Centerstage
talent show was soooooooooooooo good. i had a lot of fun, and things worked out with everything just fine and dandy. no one pulled any fire alarms thanks to my highly trained staff of fire alarm watchers. Brian & Moneek were great security co-chairs with me...i had a lot of fun w/ em. moneek also did a good job being in the dance routine and skit. Ian & Jas did a good job coordinating the show. i had a lot of fun even though i was running around like a chicken w/ its head cut off making sure everything was secure. i just wish i coulda did dance routine, but i couldnt cuz i almost passed out the night before while practicing for it cuz of this stupid cold that i had..and i didnt feel up to it during the show...that was the first routine that i missed out on since i started @ UCSD. ah well, all in all i had fun. a lot of high school friends who i havent seen in a long time were there, so it was good to see them. but what i'm really happy for is the fact that 220 got first place...they've always got 2nd place @ APSA talent shows in the past, but this year they were really deserving of 1st place, and took it. good job to everybody who made this year's talent show a success.

on a side note, i'm starting to feel much better, although i still have a slight cough...its not as bad as it was before...stay tuned we'll be back after these messages =)

feeling like...
i've been really sick lately...and all i've had was just a cough...nothing else. but this cough has been making me feel really tired, even though ive been getting like 7-8 hours of sleep a night since i first got this cough. i even take naps, but i still feel tired a couple of hours later. i havent been to work at all this week, cuz i havent been feeling that great. get this...when i went to the doctor's the other day, i went to the "walk in" line to sign in. they tell me to wait in the waiting area, and so i do. they finally call me to the back about 20 minutes later to take my vital signs (blood pressure, weight, etc) and after that, they tell me to go back in the waiting area. after another 5 minutes, they call me back again and tell me "well Jeff, we're gonna set up an appointment for you to come back to see a doctor, and it looks like they won't be able to see you today." why did they waste my time by having me wait, and by taking my vital signs if they were just gonna have me come back some other time? why couldnt they have told me when i walked into the office? that makes no sense! well anyways, i just left without making an appointment...cuz i didnt wanna come back there some other day and go through that stuff again. ah well, im feeling a bit better today...so hopefully that keeps up

APSA talent show is tomorrow!!! people please come. it starts @ 7pm at UCSD Price Center Ballroom. Tickets are $5 presale...$8 at the door. it's gonna be a cool show =) haha, now i'm using my blog as an advertisement, hopefully it'll work. til i cough again...stay tuned, we'll be back after these messages =)

Happy Birthday to my car. i bought it exactly 2 years ago today. my baby is getting old =*) haha, its funny how im marking this down as an occasion. but oh well, i love my car. im debating whether or not i should go to work today, cuz i really dont feel like working today since im still coughing like crazy...well its getting a bit better, but i still feel blah. besides i need to read a lot today cuz i have a quiz tomorrow, so time off of work will do wonders. ah well, we'll see. stay tuned...we'll be back after these messages =/
