ever get one of these emails?
Attention
I am Mr. Patrick Tama and my sister is Miss Rose Tama,
we are the children of Late Chief Paul Tama from Sierra
Leone.
I am writing you in absolute confidence primarily to
seek your assistance to transfer our cash of Ten
Million Dollars ($10,000.000.00) now in the custody of
a private Security trust firm In Europe, the money is
in trunk boxes deposited and declared as Family
valuables by my late father as a matter of fact the
company does not know the content as money, although
my father made them to understand that the boxes
belongs to his foreign partner.
Source of the Funds:
My late father Chief Paul Tama, a native of Mende
District in the Northern province of Sierra Leone, was
the General Manager of Sierra Leone mining
coporation (S.L.M.C.) Freetown. According to my
father, this money was the income accrued from Mining
Corporation's over draft and minor sales.
Before the peak of the civil war between the rebels
forces of Major Paul Koroma and the combined forces of
ECOMOG peace keeping operation that almost destroyed
my country, following the forceful removal from power
of the civilian elected President Ahmed Tejan Kabbah
by the rebels. My father had already made arrangement
for his family(talking about)my mother, my little
sister and myself to be evacuated to The Netherlands
with the CERTIFICATE OF DEPOSIT he made with a
security firm in Europe through the aid of U.N
evacuation team.
During the war in my country, and following the
indiscriminate Looting of Public and Government
properties by the rebel forces, the Sierra Leone
mining corporation was one of the targets looted and it was
destroyed. My father including other top Government
functionaries were attacked and killed by the rebels
in November 2000 because of his relationship with the
civilian Government of Ahmed Tejan Kabbah.
As a result of my father's death and with the news of
my uncle's Involvement in the air crash in January, it
dashed our hopes of survival. The untimely deaths
caused my mother's heart failure and other related
complications which later lead to her death in the hospital
after we had spent a lot of money on her early
this year. Now my 18 year old sister and I are
alone in this country suffering without any
care or help. Without any relation, we are now like
refugees and orphans.
Our only hope now is in you and the boxes deposited
in the Security Firm, to this effect, I humbly
solicit your assistance in the Following ways.
1. To assist me claim this boxes from the security
Firm as our beneficiary.
2. To transfer this money (USD$10M) in your name to
your country.
3. To make a good arrangement for a joint business
investment on our Behalf in your country and you,
our Adviser/ Manager For your assistance, I have
agreed with my younger sister that 20% of the total
amount will be for your effort and another 10 % to
cover all the expenses that may be incurred during the
business transaction, Lastly, I urge you to keep this
transaction strictly confidential as no one knows our
where about.
Please as you show your willingness; Forward to us
your full name, address and Tel/ Fax numbers, company
name and address (if any) to me via my private email
address as indicated below, this is for security
reasons as I will only be accessing my private email.
Earnestly awaiting your response.
Thanks.
May God bless you as you assist us
Mr. Patrick Tama

short story
once upon a time, earlier today jeff found a $5 bill on the ground at the regents parking lot @ ucsd. jeff picked it up and put it in his pocket. he and his friends had lunch at costco after outreaching for high school conference at grossmont high school. jeff was able to pay for lunch using the money he found. jeff was happy and full when he returned to campus for class. the end!

is it night already?
it's 230 in the afternoon, and it seems like its night outside. today was day 2 of classes being cancelled @ ucsd due to the fires around sd. i'm thinking that school will most likely be cancelled tomorrow also. it's crazy, i've never seen it like this in sd ever. it's so sad, i'm watching channel 7 right now, and theyre talking about a 16 year old who died while running away from the fire on sunday. yay that there's no school, but boo for the reason why there isnt any school. keep those in mind who are affected by this disaster. stay tuned...we'll be back after these messages =/

fire!
good news...school is cancelled tomorrow...bad news...we're gonna burn! yes, san diego is on fire right now! i'm about a 5-10 min drive from the fire in scripps ranch...and about the same distance away from the fire at miramar. crazy stuff...i've never seen it like this in sd before. it's literally snowing...not snow snow, but ash snow. a lot of houses have been burnt down. a few of my friends are affected by the fire, and may have to evacuate sooner or later. i'm hoping for the best, for all who are directly, or indirectly affected by the fire that's ravaging the county. stay tuned...we'll be back after these messages =/

done
not really, just done w/ half of my TEP 117 midterm that's due on tuesday...but i dont think im gonna work on it anymore tonight, cuz i gotta work on my research proposal for HDP 191 as well as my detailed notebook for my research in that same class. i'm also falling behind in looking for journal sources for that class. i swear, they really work me hard in that class. not only do i have to put up with obnoxious (yes big word) spoiled students at Torrey Pines High School, i also have to do a buttload of work so i can get my 12 page paper final complete. i guess they really want us to work for the 6 units we're getting for it, or maybe they just wanna see if we've got what it takes to get a degree in HDP...hmm, maybe they dont want us to get a degree? but then again, they would be stuck with us forever and ever...ok enough of this...im hungry. stay tuned...we'll be back after these messages =/

go out and do something 21+...not like go to the store and buy alkie, but like go to a club or dave n busters or something...havent done any of that in a while. i dunno, i just feel like going out and using my privilege...but havent had the chance lately. Ronnel is going to Las Vegas next weekend for his bday, and invited me to tagalong, but i dont think im gonna do it cuz i got a lot of work to do. so im thinking im just gonna go to friendship games at csu fullerton, and try to catch up on my work the rest of that weekend...but that still leaves me with no real plans to abuse my privilege. hmm...hopefully something will come up...stay tuned...we'll be back after these messages =/

i said that i had field notes to type up, but instead im reading other people's blogs...since im not doing my notes, i should just sleep...that would be more productive than reading blogs...hmm, the choices.
btw...magic 92.5 is the best station to listen to while doing homework, that is if you're ACTUALLY doing homework, like i'm not. what will i do next? stay tuned...we'll be back after these messages =p

week 0
so this was just my last ever week 0 at ucsd. did a lot of tabling for apsa this past week and did a few of the welcome week activities that were going on. mainly, i just went to the different dances (marshall, all campus, warren, multigreek) and went to the summer bridge reunion. 1st day of class was pretty cool...had 2 classes, my sign language lab class and tep 117. not 1 word was verbally said in my sign class, as we just practiced saying our names in sign, and played some charades. tep 117 was full...out of 120 seats in the class...there were at least 150 peeps in the class, 30 of whom were trying to get in. ian and i, who are already in the class, came 5 min before the class started and had to stand in the back. that night was the APSA ice cream social.
friday was day 2 of school, where i had 2 other classes. hdp 191 and asl class (not lab). good news/bad news...good news is i'm the only male in a class full of 35 females...bad news is I'M THE ONLY MALE IN A CLASS FULL OF 35 FEMALES! i feel like im gonna have to be the voice of all males in this class...it already started on friday when we had to defend or argue against the statement "males and females develop their personalities differently due to the shape of their brains and their differing hormones." yep...i had to tread carefully when speaking. even more pressure was...the professor knew my name (obviously cuz im the only male in the class)...i hope i make it out alive! asl class was pretty much the same as asl lab...no talking! that night, i had dinner w/ Kim, Stephanie (Kim's roomie), Lauren, Ryan, Annie, & Daniel at fuddruckers before i headed out to the KP bonfire at paradise point. got boba at Green Tea House w/ Cerissa, Abby, Gail, & Daniel (different one) and headed out to La Jolla Cove for a bit and hung out @ Cerissa's dorm.
Saturday was the APSA bonfire @ La Jolla Shores...so that was pretty much all day...then got more boba @ Tapioca Express w/ Cerissa, Abby, & Gail...and hung out some more @ Cerissa's dorm...yep, sometimes repetition can be fun.
so now, instead of practicing my fingerspelling for asl, here i am typing out this blog. tomorrow morning, i start my research by tutoring at torrey pines high school before going to class. and so school starts forreals...tomorrow. stay tuned...we'll be back after these messages >=0

i wonder...
why i haven't been blogging. maybe because nothing has been happening lately to warrant me blogging. just trying to enjoy my last bit of summer break. went to disneyland and california adventure on monday, got stuck on a ride (the water ride @ CA) and they had to drain the ride to rescue us. wing nights @ callahan's with friends are always fun. that's all the really exciting things that happned to me lately. school starts in 1 week. am i ready for it? no thanks! stay tuned...we'll be back after these messages =p

hmm...
yes i have been gone for awhile. nothing much has been happening...just trying to enjoy the rest of my summer. went to the beach today w/ Aldrin, Ryan & Lauren. the waves are soooooo much better for boogie boarding @ torrey pines state beach than they are @ la jolla shores! only drawback is that i think the lifeguards are only there during the summer, cuz they weren't there today...so if you arent a somewhat decent swimmer/boarder, i wouldnt recommend it unless there are some lifeguards there. came home, took a nap, and then hung out w/ Nan for the rest of the night. pretty chill my days have been since summer bridge ended. i did get a new cell phone last week...a Motorola T721 for at&t, meaning that im gonna be ending my contract a lil early w/ cingular. better to pay $150 to get out of the contract, then to pay ~$200 for another 5-6 months of crappy service. do i wanna fill u in on everything else that ive done since i last blogged? eh, not really...maybe later....prolly not though. stay tuned...we'll be back after these messages =)

it's over
so summer bridge ended yesterday. i cant believe its over...the whole month went by really fast. the way i led my suite this summer was really inspired by my atc Jesson and many of the things that he did with me when i was a student during bridge. i hope my students got as much, if not more, from bridge as i did when i went through it. here's to you Alex, Mark, Miguel, Huy, Mohan, & Roberto...i am honored that i got the chance to know you guys over the past month...i look forward to meeting with each of you over the next year. just remember that i am not just your atc...i am also your friend.
now that i'm home, its weird knowing that i dont have anything to do for the next 3-4 weeks til school starts. i have a few things that i have to take care of for one of my classes, but other than that...im down for fun. i wanna go to vegas and have the "vegas" experience...i dont wanna go with family, just with a bunch of friends. so is anybody down for a trip? stay tuned...we'll be back after these messages =)

i dunno what im typing
cuz yeah it's late/early, and i am not fully here. yep i had some fun tonight, since it is after all my night off from summer bridge. one thing that i realized based on reading my past blogs over the past month or so is that i have been reminiscing a lot about my bridge '99 memories. i guess it's because of my experiences working at bridge this summer, and noticing the scary similarities between the guys of my suite, and the guys of the suite that i was in back in '99. also, a lot of the experiences that i experienced in '99 are happening all over again...nothing too major, just a few things. ok...my brain is not really functioning right now...i'm surprised that im even coherent right now as i type this. but before i go, just wanted to say hi to my friend nina (not the one on clickages)...but the one who's apartment that i am coming to u live from right now as we speak. she's my friend from way back when i was a 1st year @ ucsd. she's on the phone right now, but i thought i would just give her a shout out before i lefted. stay tuned...we'll be back after these messages =)

night off
yup, tonight is my night off from summer bridge. and yes, i do have the worst nights off from bridge (what is there to do on monday and wednesday nights anyway?) why is it that the newbies to summer bridge gets the cool nights off, and the veterans like me get crappy nights...well actually, im the only veteran to get such crappy nights. so yeah, instead of partying since no one partys on a monday night, i went down south to chula vista to get my hair streaked by my coworker/friend Suzie...well, it didnt really get streaked, more like blobbed, since my hair is so short. i have blobs of light brown and black all over the top of my head...oh well, it's a change from my normal black hair. thanks suzie for the hair job.
so as for the lack of updates, bridge has been keeping me quite busy. i work from 4-midnight everyday, and im usually roaming around argo hall after midnight, before i go to sleep around 3 or 4am. so i just have mornings and early afternoons off to do anything, and i usually just sleep the morning away, waking up just in time for lunch @ noon. so technically, i have 4 hours to do my thing...usually, i just go to the beach or run errands and shower, before i have to go to my 4pm staff meetings. so yes, u can say that my days are pretty full...but i like it, cuz bridge is fun. sometimes i wish i could go back to when i was a bridge student so i can relive some of my memories, change some things that didnt work out my way and maybe create some new ones with some people (person)...i look at the students of this year, and remember how it was for me way back in '99. i had a lot of fun back then, but some things just didnt work out, or fell through the cracks, and looking back at it...if i had the chance, i woulda worked harder to make some of these things work out. but i guess thats all u can do in retrospect, just look back and wish u could change things for the better. that's life. stay tuned...we'll be back after these messages =l

it's 7:46am...why am i awake???
because i had to wake my students up for their 1st day of class. yep...summer bridge 2003 started on saturday, and it's been a busy weekend. lotsa activities and get to know you stuff went on this weekend. my students are sooooooooooooo cool...i couldnt have asked for better students, and it's only the 3rd day of the program. i hope that it wont change over the next 4 weeks. the dynamic of my suite is something that i did not expect to happen right away...and i am glad that it is happening, since it means less work on my part to make things work, and that is a good thing. stay tuned...we'll be back after these messages =)

home...but not for long
moved half of my stuff that i need for the month into argo hall today after training...didnt get the room i was expecting to get, but cant do anything about it, so imma just make the most of it. weird that i'm gonna be the atc of the suite that i was in when i went through summer bridge, way back in the summer of 99. didnt feel like staying there tonight, cuz not too many people are staying there tonight...most likely i'll be there tomorrow night though. gonna cut this post short cuz i got training at 8am, meaning that i gotta get up at the buttcrack of dawn so i can make it to training on time. and u know i'm definitely not a happy camper when it comes to getting up at the buttcrack of dawn...thats the time i usually go to bed =p thats what i get for not staying @ argo tonight...oh well. stay tuned...we'll be back after these messages =S

coming to u live from...
LAS VEGAS!!! right now i'm blogging from the kitchen of my mom's house on my laptop. boo to dial-up connection...it's sooooo fricken slow i tell ya. it's so hot here...but weird cuz it was raining and lightning last night. i've been here since thursday night...right after i turned my car in to get fixed, i got my rental Pontiac Grand Am, and headed up the 15 with my auntie lyn and my cousin romeo to vegas. got here round midnight on thurs night/fri morning. the thing that sucks though is that i came down with a cold on thursday, and ive been trying to recover since then. i'm feeling much better now...but im still recovering lil bit. also, i'm missing Mr. Baker's going away bonfire in SD tonight...oh well...sorry mang.
right now my mom, my aunt, and my cousin went to chinatown las vegas while i just stayed here to rest a lil bit. so right now, i'm listening to NAS's "If I ruled the World" video on BET on the tv in the background and blogging away. i caught up to my nephew Rajen and my niece Sydnee last night, and took them out to Circus Circus, even though i was snotty and coughity...but they had fun. Sydnee came home with a few new stuffed animals to add to her collection, thanks to a few of the 50 cent midway games we played. i enjoyed seeing her smile each time we won a stuffed animal for her...i shall post pics of her soon. well...im gonna go back to veggin in front of the TV, so i can feel a bit better. might go out to aladdin tonight...we'll see how i feel. but i definitely wanna feel better by tomorrow, cuz that's when i head back. stay tuned...we'll be back after these messages =l

finally!!!
after many weeks of complaining bout not going to the beach...i finally went yesterday. Darrell, Ann, and her friend Dennis came with me, as well as a few of Darrell's friends (i forget their names). i got the opportunity to test out my new boogie board...and might i say it was quite fun...my tan is developing quite nicely...a few more trips to the beach, and i shall have a somewhat normal tan for a black filipino ;)

after the beach, we went to Hooters and then thesan diego county del mar fair (it will always be the del mar fair, not the san diego county fair) NFG performed, and they were pretty good...especially when they played the Karate Kid clasic "The Glory of Love."

after the concert, we walked around the fair where i indulged in a deep fried snickers bar...an overpriced, yet tasty experience. they were $3.50, i prolly coulda made my own for under $1...but its all good since it IS fair food. i also got my caramel apples. =)
twas quite a fun day, thanks Darrell (and the other APhiO peeps), Dennis, and Angeli for yesterday's fun. yes folks...summer fun is here again!!! stay tuned...we'll be back after these messages =)

Happy 4th of July...and whoever hit me, fuck you!
yeah...so today was the 4th of july...i was looking forward to having fun with all the festivities, and my friends. i walk up to my car, and what do i see?

yeah...i was shocked. at first i thought it was a big bird who decided to use my car as a bathroom, but i dont think bird crap has some red in it (unless the bird had bloody crap). some bastard decided to park in our complex and scrape my car...and didnt have the decency to leave a note of apology. it was prolly someone's drunk ass who decided to park in our complex to watch the mira mesa 4th of july parade, and left in a huge hurry. damn it! this is the 3rd time in the last 18 months that my car has been damaged when i wasnt even in the car...im sick of putting it in the shop for repairs. thankfully the insurance company is being patient with all of these "incidents"...just sucks that each time i have to front $250 for the deductable...i hate it! stay tuned...we'll be back after these messages >=O

perfect beach weather
and yet i havent been to the beach yet this summer. ive been wanting to go, but everyone is busy with summer school, work, or plain ol laziness. hopefully i get to go to the beach before i turn 22...by the way i turn 22 in 9 days, just in case u forgot...but no worries, u still got plenty of time to get me a birthday gift ;) i've become a dave & buster's junkie...i've been there twice within the last week...funny how i'm spending money, and yet i dont have any sort of income coming from a job. ah well...summer bridge training is a lil over 3 weeks away, can't wait. oh well...back to being a bum, hopefully i wont get too broke. stay tuned...we'll be back after these messages =)

more to come as the summer goes by...
so tonight i watched Charlie's Angels with Ellen Mae who i went to high school with, and now we go to ucsd together. we've been friends since i was a sophomore and she was a freshman (maybe longer), but we never really hung out til tonight. i had a lot of fun chillin w/ her...and we had a good time catching up with each other. i even introduced her to the 2 story Target store @ mission, and she got to experience the cart escalator (yep, she was amazed). i'm glad we got the chance to hang out with each other. i hope we do it again sometime soon. catching up with old friends is always nice. stay tuned...we'll be back after these messsages =)

lazy summer
nothing's really been going on...just been chilin w/ random peeps over the last week. saw The Italian Job on saturday, and Finding Nemo on tuesday. chilled with Chris, Steph, and Armando at mando, steph, dave, and mikey's pad in mira mesa last night til 5 this morning. we were just talking about random things...always fun. i've also started working out @ rimac...trying to get in shape for the summer...it's a value too, for $25 for the whole summer...i'm gonna take advantage of that place this summer. other than that, i've just been chillin, restin, and relaxin...nothing too strenuous. my 22nd birthday is coming up in a lil over 2 weeks...hmm what to do? stay tuned...we'll be back after these messages =)

1st week of summer
so far my 1st week off has been pretty eventful and uneventful. there have been graduations and parties, and random trips to disneyland and pasadena. twas quite fun...but these past 3 days have been pretty quiet and full of nothing. wanna see pics of what i've done? click here or below the picture on the side. right now i'm bored...kinda miss having people around, since most of em went home...oh well, i'll manage. stay tuned...we'll be back after these messages =)

class of 2003
congratulations to all the graduates who graduated today, and in the last month from college and high school. hard to believe that i was supposed to be graduating today/this year...but instead i chose to stay for 5 years. it feels a lil bit weird, considering that ~1/2 of the people i entered college with have now graduated, while i'm still hangin around waiting another year to get my degree. in a way it feel good cuz i'm taking my time, and not rushing (too much) to get done...but in another way, it feels bad...well not really bad...just awkward knowing that i am one of the oldest undergraduates @ ucsd and that while many of the people i entered with are continuing on with their lives, i will be spending another year in classrooms at ucsd as an undergraduate. eh...i'll get over it...just 1 more year til i'm out. stay tuned...we'll be back after these messages =)

I'M DONE!!!
have i mentioned that i'm done...no more school, lots of chill time ahead of me. i finished finals yesterday at 4:45pm with adolescent psychology being my last one. i came home, took a short nap, went out for a couple of hours, then came back home and passed out for over 10 hours. damn it felt good to sleep, after spending all those long hours at CLICS. although i spent all that time studying, im not so sure how i did on all of my finals. i'm actually afraid that all the hard work spent studying may have been all for nothing. i dunno, just a feeling i guess...i hope that's all it is, a feeling...not reality. ah well, my 4th year at UCSD is officially over, and u know what that means....1 more year til im outta here!!! the agenda for this summer? big bum jeff! and then summer bridge one more time...this time as an ATC. i figured that its time for me to take on the position at summer bridge that i've always wanted...well since i went through the program myself. look out 1st years, i'm gonna be transitioning u to ucsd *evil laugh*...ah well, it's not like i haven't been doing that for the past 3 years now. ok...enough bloggin im gonna go out and enjoy my summer. congrats to all u graduates out there, i'm proud of u...i'm next! stay tuned...we'll be back after these messages =)

fried brain anyone?
for the past 3 nights, i have been pulling all-nighters @ CLICS, a library here @ ucsd. right now, as i speak, im coming to u live from clics after spending another nice night with my books, notebooks, and laptop. the only reason why i leave is because the parking ticket guy starts ticketing at 8am in the area that im parked at, and i dont wanna move my car and walk back here. on this day, i have been here @ CLICS since 6pm yesterday. this set of finals are the worst set of finals that i have ever been through here at ucsd. (note...it took me 7 times to correctly type ucsd in that last sentence...thats how fried my brain is). all this time studying, and im not sure how ready i am for my finals...so many things to know, not too much time to do em in. not to mention the fact that Professor Espiritu is hogging all our time by giving us a paper and a final. i just cant wait til 6:01 pm thurs evening, cuz thats when i'll be done!!! parking guy is coming soon...i think im gonna go home, and catch a few hours of sleep, before repeating the process i've been going through since saturday. FINALS BEGIN TOMORROW!!! *insert sinister music here* stay tuned...we'll be back after these messages >=/

for now...this past week has been really busy. first of all, it was memorial day weekend last weekend. and u would think i went out and went crazy since it was unofficial "first weekend of summer". nope...i was pretty much busy working on 2 projects...1 for cog sci, and the other for ethnic studies, and kinda sorta visiting friends. nothing too wild, and nothing too exciting...just a regular weekend, as if it were deep in the middle of winter. professors who assign projects that are due the day after memorial day weekend are evil. i take that back, my ethnic studies professor is cool (Yen Espiritu...for those of u who know who she is)...my cog sci professor is just plain ol weird. he fricken sounds like barney the dinosaur! if u were to tagalong to my cog sci class, sit down, close your eyes, listen and imagine a purple dinosaur in the middle of the classroom, you'd swear u were listening to barney! in addition to those 2 projects, i also had a paper due today for my social psychology class. but i got that done on tues night/weds morning, so i could go out last night...which i did. i went out w/ Sharon and few of her friends to PB Bar and Grill, but it was pretty dead there, so we went to Margarita Rocks. i'd have to admit, that it was a better experience than i had the last time i went there. so that's been my week up to now. tomorrow is KP's semiformal @ the Bristol Hotel in downtown SD...i'm going with sharon...i think we'll have some fun. saturday is the APSA some long name thing that Victor made up so he could make his event sound cool sports day...and sunday is APSA's graduation banquet @ North Island Navy Base. somewhere in the weekend, i gotta start my finals studying process, since next week is 10th week and the week after that is finals week, then comes graduation (i'll have mine next year), and then SUMMER!!!!!!!!! i can't wait til summer comes...this quarter/year needs to end now. i really need a break from school, and summer is my chance to get away from UCSD, since i'm not taking summer school...and summer bridge doesnt start til late july...so the first half of my summer, i'm gonna be a bum. okey dokey, this blog is getting long...so imma go now and veg a little bit, maybe go to sleep soon. stay tuned...we'll be back after these messages =)

these past few weeks
have been really trying times for me. lotsa things have been going on that has been concerning me and my family. the thing with my brother has really been a major thing in my family (see april 14th...yeah i finally wrote something there). my brother is conscious now, and is aware of what's going on around him, a major improvement since i was there to visit him. my dad is actually there right now visiting him. i wanted to come...but i have too many things that need to be done here. yeah, as i mentioned in the april 14th blog...i feel bad that im worrying about my stuff here, while my brother is fighting to stay alive and facing disability...but i do have him in my thoughts as i do my stuff, and i know that he wants me to take care of my business. like me, he hates pity. dont worry, i will be visiting him in a couple of weeks...as soon as PCC is over, and most of my midterms are done.
in addition to my personal struggles, i have also been actively involved with the students first! stuff that's been happening at UCSD. serious injustices has been happening regarding that...(confused? see the other blog of april 14). all this stuff has really been stressful on not only me...but also the hundreds of supporters of students first, and the candidates themselves. i really hope this issue gets resolved soon, cuz this is really emotionally draining for all involved. =/
ok...onto the fun stuff. i went to the ERC semiformal @ sea world this past friday Jill Perez. it was a lot of fun...my first ucsd college semiformal (not KP or APSA type semiformal). we had a lot of fun together...good times i tell ya. last night, a bunch of us went to E. St Alley in downtown SD to celebrate Mylene's 22nd birthday. fun was had by all. while i'm on the subject.... ok...i'm getting tired of typing...so i'm gonna end this now. stay tuned..we'll be back after these messages =)

some messed up stuff
DEMOCRACY SUBVERTED AT UCSD
April 11, 2003 - The voice of the student body at the University of California, San Diego was silenced today when an elections committee of seven members voted 4 to 3 to reverse the decision of approximately 3000 student voters in a process rife with procedural inconsistencies, clear conflicts of interest, and egregious disregard for the integrity of the elections.
The Students First! slate, a coalition of 15 candidates representing a diverse variety of student groups at UCSD, was disqualified this evening immediately before the announcement of the election results. Election results showed that the students at UCSD had voted 11 of the 15 Students First! candidates into office. However, the Associated Students elections committee invalidated all votes for Students First! candidates when it decided to disqualify the entire slate.
Prior to the elections, many groups and individuals on campus worked against Students First!, which swept the AS elections in the previous year. One member who lost in a race for a vice presidency to Students First! in the 2002 elections sat on this year's elections committee. Two other members on the elections committee this year had supported the Action slate which lost to Students First! in the same election. The California Review, the Conservative Union, the Freedom Alliance, and the Marksmanship Club, which ran an unsuccessful conservative slate that lost to Students First! in the 2002 elections, created candidates and student organizations intended to confuse and defraud voters.
Throughout the elections process, Students First! was subjected to harassment, spying, and defamation. Fake Students First! flyers, using stolen logos, accused the coalition of hating white students, Greeks, the military, and of being un-American. Student First! candidates were subjected to racial slurs, called communists and fascists, and followed around campus.
Despite these difficult conditions, 11 of 15 Students First! candidates won their offices by vote, only to be disqualified by four members of the AS elections committee. Never in the entire history of UCSD has an elections committee disqualified an entire slate.
There are no hanging chads here, but there is a small group of politically biased individuals who ignored all laws, procedures, and reason to overturn an election. UCSD's 2003 AS elections were not about candidates or issues, but about libel and voter fraud. Is this democracy at work, or has it been subverted? Is this Florida and Palm Beach right here in Southern California?
Do not let the student voice be silenced. Do not let democracy be betrayed.
Educate yourself and take action now. This could happen anywhere; it is time to organize.
this really pissed me off...and it should piss you off too, cuz it could happen to you too. i dont usually use my blog to publicize movements and stuff...but this is something that i'm heavily involved with and feel strongly about. my voice was silenced and invalidated by 4 people, and this is not right. this is not a case of the people who i voted for losing through valid voting...its a matter of these people winning through popular vote, but losing by being disqualified. if u wanna know how u can help, or get more info...email me or instant message me. stay tuned...we'll be back after these messages >=O

so what happened?
ok...i am writing this on 4/28, a good 2 weeks after i originally posted this entry. i never filled this day in cuz i didnt really feel like thinking too much about what's been going on...too much on my mind, and it's kinda overwhelming. so what did happen to cause me to not feel like updating this thing in awhile u might ask? well...my brother Eric had a stroke on monday morning april 7. he was driving to pick up his wife from work at 4am, and it just hit. luckily for him, he was able to feel it coming on, and was able to pull off to the side of the road. he was also able to call his mother (yeah...we dont have the same mother) to come to his rescue. Katherine (his wife) called me later on that morning to tell me what had happened. i let my dad know what happened, and things got put into motion. since my dad couldnt get away from work for a day or so, i was able to get my stuff in order at school before we headed off to Las Vegas (where he lives) on wednesday. it was tough seeing him hooked up to all the life support machines, and seeing the staples in his head from where they performed surgery to relieve pressure in his head. i really wanted him to open his eyes while i was there, but it didnt happen. the doctors have given us a good prognosis on his condition, and outlook...but we're still worried, cuz that has to do with his brain. anything trauma to the head could cause complications. well...im just happy that he's still alive...the rest will come in due time. i really felt bad when we had to leave his bedside after 2 days. i felt really selfish for leaving...but i really needed to take care of business back here in san diego. i really wanted to stay longer...but i also had to maintain my commitments at school, and to the rest of the PCC cast. i know in my heart that my brother would want me to take care of my business, cuz thats the type of brother that he is...he's always been supportive of what ive been doing. katherine reassured me that everything is ok...and it's alright for me to leave. but i still couldnt (and still cant help) but to think that i was abandoning him. it's really tough to be the rope in the tug o war of life. on one side, my brother who is clinging onto life....on the other side are school, and other people who are counting on me to be there to pull my weight in PCC, and other aspects of things that i'm involved in.
just by typing this out, ive realized that there are a lot of things i need to vocalize with someone, but every time i try to talk to somebody about it, something holds me back from saying everything that needs to be said. i guess it's because i dont want anybody to pity me...something i learned to hate around the time that my parents got divorced. i think the person who knows the most about me is my best friend Chie, but she doesnt know whats been happening to me lately...mainly cuz we've both been busy with our lives to really talk to each other...i really miss her =/ i dunno...i just need someone to talk to...but i just dont know how to say everything. we'll see how things go. stay tuned...we'll be back after these messages =/

to put things in perspective
i typed this out earlier, but blogger was being sucky...anyways tonight i chilled w/ Vietca. we ate @ Seau's before going to see Bringing Down the House @ AMC Mission Valley. it had been awhile since she and i had chilled and had a nice conversation. she was one of my students during Summer Bridge '02, but we had chilled a few times since then...but yeah it had been awhile. well...while we were having a pleasant evening of fun, food, and mindless entertainment, i came home to learn that US troops in iraq had been in a major dogfight w/ an iraqi batallion. i think that it's crazy how half of the US military and all of the iraqi military are fighting a war, while the rest of us are trying to enjoy life as best as we can in spite of this war. i really hate this war...i'm not gonna share my views of the reasons behind the war, other than the fact that i have mixed feelings about the reasonings behind it, and that i hate war...but i just want it to end (as peacably (sp?) as possible). right now as i type this, i'm watching nbc as a reporter is in the trenches with the marines as they try to target some iraqi snipers who are also targeting them...it's funny cuz the reporter was just asked by the anchor "do you feel safe where you're at, do you need to move?" and the reporter responded by saying "we can't move if we wanna continue to bring you these great pictures" he later said that he feels safe, but it's funny how this war is like one of those reality series (eg real world, survivor, etc) but only this one is life or death. i support our troops, im just tired of all the death...i think there should just be a huge dodgeball game, and whoever loses the game loses the war...if only it were that simple. ok, no more war stuff...stay tuned...we'll be back after these messages =/

yep...i finished my finals yesterday, although i shoulda been done tonight, but i finished my paper that was due today on tuesday night and turned it in yesterday....now it's time to chill and have fun cuz spring break is here! but there's a shadow hanging over the excitement of spring break. the war with iraq started yesterday...i just hope it doesnt last too long, and things go back to normal soon enough. i have mixed feelings about the war (i hate war and there are a lot of things about it that i dont agree with, but i can see some reasons behind it)...enough about the war. i just got home from chillin w/ Krystle, as we wandered about san diego somewhat as a celebration of finishing finals. let's see what this year's spring break has in store for me. stay tuned...we'll be back after these messages =)

2:00am monday morning and
i got a psyc 101 final in 9 1/2 hours...and i'm blogging? go figure...just procrastination at its best
"procrastination is like masturbation...it feels good til u realize youre fucking yourself"
good thing i've been studying all weekend, so i havent really been procrastinating as much as you might think, but for some reason i dont feel fully ready. maybe it's been all the study breaks that have turned into hiatuses (like this one).
currently listening to DJ Opus-slow jam megamix which is #183 on my winamp playlist...go download it on Kazaa lite...kazaa lite is way better than kazaa (it's the same thing, only no spyware).
ok...enough of this masturbation...gonna study for another hour and a half, then sleep. wish me luck...stay tuned...we'll be back after these messages =þ

this weekend
ok, right now as i'm typing this, i'm at the library lounge at school waiting for the APSA meeting to start...but i had wanted to blog on sunday night, but was too lazy to type. but yeah, this weekend was really busy. APSA talent show was this weekend, and for like the first half, thats all that i did. i was in charge of the info booth, so for much of friday and all of saturday i was doing stuff for that. in addition to that, i also had PCC practice on friday night, and skit and dance practice right after that. while i was holding the fort down during talent show, i was also practicing. the skit went off really well. i was hella (yup my bay areaness is kinda sorta coming out...not really) nervous right before i went on stage...since i had a big role as the "evil director" which was my first time ever doing a major role, i was very edgy (is that a word?) but i ended up doing pretty well (although i stuttered a bit). dance routine was fun too, i learned a lot of it during the last week...but i saw the dance video, and i think i did ok (for an apsa dance routine). after the show was over, a bunch of us (like 20 deep) went to Keith's to eat. i was in the mood for some breakfast, so i had a ham ommelette. when i got home, i literally passed out from being so tired.
the next day was apsa alumni/undergrad sports day. i woke up around the time it started, so i was about an hour late...but it's all good. i got there right as they started playing soccer. i chilled there for about an hour, before i headed to the cross cultural center w/ Reggie. we got there right before 1, thinking that that was when practice was supposed to start. when we got there loralei told us that we owed her a dollar since practice started @ 1230. i was like wtf??? i thought it was at 1...but apparently they had sent out emails saying that the time had changed to 1230. i was upset about that...cuz they didnt mention anything at the last practice...and last week they had told us that it was at 1. that put a damper on my practice, cuz i was expecting to be enjoying myself during practice, but all i was doing was thinking about that. practice was supposed to go til 4, but reggie and i cut out at 3 to go back to sports day, where i played a little bit of football. the undergrads ended up winning the day, taking both soccer and basketball, and tying at football. that night, like 25 of us went to rei do gado's, an all u can eat brazilian bbq place. good stuff i tell ya, but a bit pricey. good food, and lotsa competition to see who could eat the most meat. Marissa ended up getting rookie of the year, after she out ate all of the rookies (most of whom were male)...but i think she paid for it later =þ
all in all it was a fun, tiring, interesting, and non-academic weekend. class has been blah...this is the last week, and then finals are up next week. this is also the last week w/ my 7th graders @ the Preuss school. it was fun going there. alrighty...i was gonna study, but i got stuck doing this...so yeah...time for the apsa meeting. i hope u enjoyed reading this unusually long blog. stay tuned...we'll be back after these messages =þ

did i mention
that i had pcc practice today? yeah, can u believe it...i swore off all the practices after my experiences last year (i felt like a lot of time was wasted, and i didnt really feel like i was a part of pcc for much of last year's practices), but i had a lot of fun during hell week, so now i'm back for more. well yeah...the first pcc practice was today, which is a lil bit later than usual (the show is on mother's day weekend)...meaning we have a lil more than 2 months to get things ready. i'm in sakuting, and i'm thinking about trying out for a small part for cast, just so i have more time on stage. i just did 1 dance last year and was an extra in the party scene...and the rest of the time i was stage crew. i figure that since i'm putting all this time into pcc, that i should be in more than just 1 3-5 minute dance.
apsa talent show is this saturday...if youre reading this, then that means you must go, cuz it's gonna be a good show, and if that doesnt make u wanna go, then the fact that i'm gonna make a fool of myself on stage should convince ya. ok, enough randomness (wow 2 entries in less than a day) time for me to sleep, i'm getting experimented on tomorrow by the UCSD psychology department...maybe they will find out what's wrong with me sometimes. stay tuned...we'll be back after these messages ;)

this week...
busy week this past week. i had a midterm for psyc 101 this past tuesday..didnt do as well as i would have liked...but i did better than i did before. ive also been really busy getting things for APSA's Talent Show done...i'm in charge of the info booth where everybody checks in, so i've been getting the stuff i need ready for that. but i've also been designing the name badges for the acts, the committees, and the committee heads. i never realized how anal i get when i am creating something. but i dunno, i love being creative (which is prolly why i did the APSA programs for so long), but when i get creative, i also become a perfectionist, and everything has to be in the right place before i'm happy with it. so, being the perfectionist that i am...it takes forever for me to do these name badges. i've also got the skit for talent show to practice for...which should be fun. it's a great skit thanks to Reggie, Mizuki & Jackie who wrote it.
last night i went to the marshall semi-formal...not with a date, but with Mikey (aka DJ Sureflow), who djed the dance...i helped him load and unload his dj equipment. it was a cool dance, and it was on a boat. i had a lot of fun...and it sure beat staying at home to do homework. well, this week will be crazy, cuz its the last week before talent show. hopefuly tonight, i'm gonna do the work that's due this week and then focus on talent show stuff for the rest of the week. then after that start on finals preparation, since finals is in 2 weeks!!! we'll see how that goes. stay tuned...we'll be back after these messages =/

this is so true...
my best friend Chie [pronounced Chee-eh] emailed me this...and i totally related to much of what it says. it's long, but it really is good reading...
ON BEING TWENTY - SOMETHING
They call it the "Quarter-life Crisis." It is when you stop going along with the crowd and start realizing that there are many things about yourself that you didn't know and may not like. You start feeling insecure and wonder where you will be in a year or two, but then get scared because you barely know where you are now. You start realizing that people are selfish and that, maybe, those friends that you thought you were so close to aren't exactly the greatest people you have ever met, and the people you have lost touch with are some of the most important ones. What you don't recognize is that they are realizing that too, and aren't really cold, catty, mean or insincere, but that they are as confused as you. You look at your job... and it is not even close to what you thought you would be doing, or maybe you are looking for a job and realizing that you are going to have to start at the bottom and that scares you.
Your opinions have gotten stronger. You see what others are doing and find yourself judging more than usual because suddenly you realize that you have certain boundaries in your life and are constantly adding things to your list of what is acceptable and what isn't. One minute, you are insecure and then the next, secure. You laugh and cry with the greatest force of your life. You feel alone and scared and confused. Suddenly, change is the enemy and you try and cling on to the past with dear life, but soon realize that the past is drifting further and further away, and there is nothing to do but stay where you are or move forward.
You get your heart broken and wonder how someone you loved could do such damage to you. Or you lie in bed and wonder why you can't meet anyone decent enough that you want to get to know better. Or maybe you love someone but love someone else too and cannot figure out why you are doing this because you know that you aren't a bad person. One night stands and random hook ups start to look cheap. Getting wasted and acting like an idiot starts to look pathetic. You go through the same emotions and questions over and over, and talk with your friends about the same topics because you cannot seem to make a decision.
You worry about loans, money, the future and making a life for yourself... and while winning the race would be great, right now you'd just like to be a contender! What you may not realize is that everyone reading this relates to it. We are in our best of times and our worst of times, trying as hard as we can to figure this whole thing out.
there are certain parts of it that relate to some of the events that have happened lately that kinda got me in a bit of trouble (ahem...my strong opinions)...i would elaborate more, but the people involved wouldnt appreciate it very much, and i would rather put everything about it behind me. but pretty much, that email summarized my life as it is. i suppose everybody goes through it...we'll see how things shape up. stay tuned...we'll be back after these messages =l

pet peeves about school
tuesdays and thursdays are my really long days at school...and i just wanna say that there's 1 thing that really irks me in class, especially on these days when the classes are an hour and 20 minutes long, that's those people who must ask a question that really isnt relevant to what we have to know for class. for example...in my psyc 101 class...there's this one girl in there who insists on asking a question in every single lecture...sometimes more than 1 question. now i'm not saying that asking questions just for clarification is bad, or asking these questions in smaller classes that are geared for these types of discussions, but there are 300+ students in this class, and this girl (and a few others) insists on asking questions about the subject that we DO NOT need to know for class. her questions usually begins with "what if..." and the rest of it is a scenerio that she prolly made up in her mind that has nothing to do with what we need to know for the class/midterm/final. and the professor is amazed that she has such "ingenuitive thinking" (and i quote that, cuz the professor did say that) that she answers the question as fully and as drawn out as she can, which may be stimulating to her and the psycho question asker, but boring to the other 300 students in the class. and this girl is the one who asks the questions when the professor asks "are there anymore questions before i let you guys go?" which keeps us longer than is necessary. this is not the first class that i've had with her...ive had at least 1 class w/ her every quarter for the past 2 years. grr...c'mon lady, we dont need to know this stuff that youre asking....thats what office hours are for! i seriously wanna take her outside and knock her upside the head with a wet noodle. grr...it's really annoying!!! if u dont believe me, just ask ronnel, he knows what i'm talking about since he's in my class. anybody have a wet noodle to spare? i will thank you kindly =þ stay tuned...we'll be back after these messages >=O

it's been awhile
school is keeping me in check...so i havent really been posting in awhile..i really need to focus more, cuz i took 2 midterms last week, and i got my grades back this week. let's just say they werent grades that i was expecting to get...and that isnt a good thing. nothing really has been going on in my life. i'm still confused about things, and how things should be running in my life. i need to figure out what's right for me, and if i should move on to better things, in all aspects of my life (especially one part). the people in my life are a big question to me right now. for some reason i feel like everybody is moving on and doing their own thing, while i'm left to fend for myself, which is sometimes a good thing...but i feel like im being left out of other people's plans...i want to still be in their lives, cuz my friends and the people i communicate with are big parts of my life...ack...enough of my random ramblings, i'm prolly confusing you in the same way that i'm confusing myself
well...other than that, things are good. despite my confusion, i am still hanging in there, and trying to have a good time while i'm at it. it's another 4 day weekend for me, i'm gonna go out and make the most of it before midterm season comes back for round 2 in a couple of weeks. anybody have plans for this weekend? call me up if u know the digits...if not, i'll hopefully find something that's mentally stimulating and entertaining.
jumpin music
slick dj's
smoke machines and...
laser rays...
look out weekends cuz...
here i come
because weekends were...
made for fun!
stay tuned...we'll be back after these messages =)

future teacher
this quarter i'm taking TEP 138...a tutoring class in which i go to the Preuss School @ UCSD, and tutor and assist where needed. last week one of the teachers that i'm assigned to wasnt really able to be in class because she was running around doing science fair things, and she had a substitute teacher come in to watch the class. they would not listen to a word that he was saying to them, but when i stepped in and had them sit down to do their work...they actually listened to me! i mean, there were a few who still tried to wander around and stuff, but for the most part they listened. i was really nervous, but i tried to not let that get to me, and it worked. i know that there is more to teaching than just getting them to listen to me, but still, that made me happy to know that they listen to me.
well, this year is the year that i'm gonna have to start looking beyond UCSD, and into my career, since i'm graduating next year. i decided a couple of years ago that i want to go into teaching, so now it's time for me to look into teacher's credentialing programs. so far, i've already ruled out UCSD's teaching program, cuz theyre too damned picky with what they want from its undergrad applicants. i'm really interested in SDSU's teaching program or maybe even UCLA...but we'll see how things go. i'm already excited in what's to come from my teaching career...but i know it's gonna be a lot of hard work. dorkyjanet you better help me out with what i need to do to get in! stay tuned..we'll be back after these messages =)

my crazy dad
and so i was going to church today (during the oakland vs tennessee game)...and i told my dad that i was leaving and will catch the last part of the game when i got back. as i was leaving...he asked me why i have become so church oriented (he hasn't gone to church in years). i said that i just want to go. he then says "i think you're meeting someone over there" as if i were going out on a date. i just asked him what kind of a date would going to church be? he changed the subject, and said "it's good that you're going." i just left after that. as i walked to my car, i couldnt help but laugh at what my dad said. like i said...crazy dad. stay tuned...we'll be back after these messages =)

dave and buster's
yeah...u heard it here first, i am no longer a Dave and Buster's virgin. i went there last night with Gee, Alfred, Christian, and Mark Ejanda...my morse high 99er friends. i had called gee up at around 8pm, and she was just chillin w/ alfred in the parking lot at their work. we decided to meet up, and go to DnB's...so they told me to meet em at their work. so i drove over there and saw them just chillin there. they had been there for 2 hours by the time i got there. we just chilled there for awhile, just looking at my pictures, and talking. we were waiting for others to join us there. Nem showed up, and they decided to go inside so nem could relieve her bladder. meanwhile, alfred and i just chilled in the parking lot and talked. while we were waiting, gee's stalker came out, and got into his car and started staring at us (prolly wondering why we were chillin by gee's car). he was there for quite awhile, pretending to be on the cell phone, but really just staring us down. after awhile, he left and we continued our conversation...until gee's object of desire showed up to work(ask her for his name...cuz i dunno if i can share here). gee chickened out in talking to him...so she and nem came back out to the parking lot. by that time, christian had showed up. after deciding what our strategy for the night was...we finally headed off to Friday's in Mission Valley to eat before going to DnB. Mark n Chelle joined us there to eat after mark got off work. we laughed, ate, and were merry (especially gee...who was having textual intercourse w/ her dude the whole time). after eating...we said our goodbyes to nem (who was too young to go to DnB), and chelle (who was tired) and headed to DnB. i had never been there...but it was really fun there...almost like a chuck e. cheese's for adults. i pretty much played the ticket games, which were pretty cool. i saw a few other friends there enjoying themselves. all in all, i had a pretty good night. kept my mind off of things that were kinda bothering me. i shall return to DnB's...anybody wanna come? stay tuned...we'll be back after these messages =)

something i noticed
i have talked very highly of the summer bridge program many times in my blogs and to people that i come across both on and off campus. i talk about the great relationships that i built while i was a student in the program, and the fun memories that we shared during that month in 1999 at argo hall in ucsd. even the summer bridge pride that i carried on throughout my first 2 years at ucsd were expressed because of the great experiences that i had. but something that i have noticed over the past couple of years is that i have grown distant from many of the my summer bridge friends that i made during that summer before my first year. and after thinking about it a little further, i begin to wonder whether or not i was fully included among the groups that formed from bridge. as recently as this past friday, i was at a birthday party for Christine Lucero (who didnt go to summer bridge), there were a lot of people there who went to my bridge. i noticed that many of the people who hung out together during and after bridge, were still hanging out with each other. they were dancing, and having a good time together. i even saw some people that i hung out with, hanging out with other people...or chillin with others who i was close with during the program. it got me thinking...why don't i hang out with them anymore? why arent the bonds that i formed with these people just 3 1/2 years ago, not as strong as they once were? why don't i talk to my suitemates anymore? why are other peoples bonds that were formed at the same time mine were, still there? i used to think that i would be close with all of these people because we had summer bridge love for each other...and the summer bridge pride was really flowing during my first couple of years. but now...i feel like i have drifted away from many of these people. i mean, there are a few who i still talk to, and still chill with (you know who u are), and we all still have summer bridge '99 pride and love...but i'm disappointed that my bonds with almost everybody else has weakened to passing familiarity. maybe it's cuz i was a commuter for all 4 years i've gone to ucsd, and the others had easy access to each other since they lived close to each other on campus...maybe it's cuz we just grew apart. i dunno what happened. if i could turn back time to my first year here at ucsd...i would have tried to maintain those bonds that i formed during bridge, and made myself more accessible to those who i had relationships with. time is running out at ucsd for the graduated high school class of 1999, since about half are graduating in june, and the rest of us have up to a year left here...i will still remain true to the spirit of SB '99...let's see how things turn out with them '99ers. stay tuned...we'll be back after these messages =/

the end of winter break
and so, the end to another christmas break has come. UCSD starts again tomorrow. my AIM buddy list is once again full of people who have returned to san diego to go back to school. college life is once again back. yay...time to study =/ im gonna miss just sitting around and not doing anything but stare at the computer or the tv...or just sleeping in. this quarter is the worst...cuz there isnt much of a vacation waiting at the end...just 1 week for spring break, and then back to school. ah well...i'll make the most of this quarter.
upcoming events
-pcc tryouts
-apaac @ uci
-apsa talent show
-other various events
well i should be pretty busy this quarter, especialy since i still have to deal with class. i'm enrolled in 4 classes for 14 units...but i'm trying to add another one...so that will bring my total up to 18 units. i'm also still looking for a job...so if i get one, add work to my busy schedule. let's hope i survive this quarter...cuz i have 1 more after this one til summer comes. i'm supposed to be graduated in june...but i'm staying another year so i can take my time, and not stress too much. but i can now truthfully say that i'm graduating NEXT YEAR stay tuned...we'll be back after these messages =)

random babble
i've rediscovered how cool the later TGIF shows are/were. thanks to the magic of the disney channel, i'm able to enjoy the entertaining qualities of Boy Meets World and Sister, Sister. i think i didnt see too many episodes towards the last years that they were on, prolly cuz they were on during the latter years of my high school life...when i was really busy with yearbook, asb, and class council, as well as with friends. right now i'm watching the christmas episode of Boy Meets World from their first year of college, where mr feeny plays the ghost of christmas future, and past. ahh...the memories. merry christmas eve!!! stay tuned...we'll be back after these messages =)

jury duty
so i had jury duty for the past 2 days. i got assigned to a case, so i had to come back for an extra day. the judge that i had was the same judge who did the Westerfield case (that little girl named Danielle Van Dam, who got killed), Judge Mudd. i didn't wanna get assigned...but i did, which sucked at first cuz it took up part of my winter break, but it ended up being kinda fun. i wouldn't do it again right away, but it was an interesting experience. funny thing was that 1 of the jurors was in summer bridge 2001 when i was a resource counselor, and another juror was a professor that i had 2 years ago...so at least i knew some people. well, now that i'm done w/ jury duty...my winter break can start once again. NO MORE JURY DUTY FOR ME FOR 3 YEARS!!! stay tuned...we'll be back after these messages =)

i got...
jury duty at 745 am...which is in about 3 1/2 hours from now...why am i awake? maybe it's cuz i'm nocturnal, and i cant go to sleep before 4am anymore...i mean, i did go to sleep at about 2...but after trying to sleep for an hour and a half, i got up and got on the computer. maybe it's also cuz i got something on my mind. i guess, i need some resolution with some people, and its driving me crazy. 1 is with a good friend of mine, 1 is with someone that just met and i'm trying to get to know (actually, i dunno if there is a problem with this person...it's just me worrying...prolly bout nothing). but at any rate, i just hate it when i got things on my mind...it throws me completely off. i'm pretty sure that things will work out in the end...i will take action, cuz it's the holiday season, i dont need any drama hanging over my head. i'm just gonna quit blogging about it...and take some action to resolve things...and quit worrying. ah well...i'm gonna try to get some sleep so i can do my civic responsibility, and report to jury duty. tata for now...stay tuned...we'll be back after these messages =/
edit ok...so the drama with the other person was just me worrying bout nothing...so i'm good there =þ

finals
finals has shown its ugly face again...so i think it's appropriate for me to post these levels of stress anxiety that i got from my friend Steph (who is now back in daygo after a year long stay abroad in new zealand.)
Levels of finals anxiety...by Stephanie Aguon
level 1-"ha..i have finals"
level 2-"hmm...i should study..."
level 3-"they're not gonna be that bad..."
level 4-"shit, I have finals"
level 5-"I'm gonna get crapped on!"
i think i'm between level 1 and 2...i wish my finals were earlier in the week, instead of thurs and fri...cuz ive been feeling ok about these finals, but now that it's so late in the week, im likely to procrastinate, which i have been doing a lot of. only 2 finals to study for too...ethnic studies on thurs, and human sexuality on fri...so not too bad. also if it were earlier in the week, i would be done w/ em, and my winter break will start early. oh well...i guess i just have to wait til the end of the week to take em. stay tuned...we'll be back after these messages =)
